European University Festival 2026–2027: A European Platform for Climate Action

UCEE – Union of European Experts Chambers is promoting the European University Festival, a permanent European platform connecting universities, research, institutions and industry to develop concrete solutions to global challenges.

The 2026–2027 edition is dedicated to Climate Change, addressing its scientific, environmental, technological, cultural, economic and social dimensions and creating a framework in which university knowledge, research and innovation can be transformed into real-world impact.

The platform was officially launched in Turin on 21 May 2026, marking the opening of the European Call for Universities. Universities and academic research teams from across Europe are invited to submit projects capable of contributing measurable, innovative and scalable solutions to climate and sustainability challenges.

The selection process will lead to 24 finalist universities, which will be invited to participate in the Final Phase of the European University Festival, scheduled from 29 June to 3 July 2027.

The Festival is held under the High Patronage of the European Parliament and the Patronage of the Holy See, through the Dicastery for Culture and Education. For 2026, the initiative has also received the patronage of the Italian National Commission for UNESCO, while the Piedmont Region supports the initiative as an Institutional Partner.

Promoted by UCEE, the European University Festival aims to strengthen cooperation between universities, institutions, industry and international partners, creating opportunities for selected academic projects to gain visibility, develop new collaborations and access dedicated mechanisms designed to support their implementation.
