Institutional Meeting in Brussels with Luigi Di Maio

On 27 August 2026, Pierangelo Saba, President of UCEE – Union of European Experts Chambers, held an institutional meeting in Brussels with Luigi Di Maio, European Union Special Representative for the Gulf region.

The meeting provided an opportunity to present the European University Festival and discuss its international development, with particular attention to opportunities for dialogue and cooperation between Europe and the Gulf region in the fields of higher education, climate action, innovation and youth engagement.

The exchange forms part of UCEE's broader commitment to fostering international cooperation among institutions, universities, professionals and strategic partners, while supporting initiatives capable of connecting European expertise with global challenges.

During the discussion, particular attention was also given to the potential international development of the European University Festival and to opportunities for future engagement with institutional and strategic stakeholders in the Gulf region.

The meeting represents a further step in strengthening dialogue between European and international actors around shared challenges and in creating new opportunities for cooperation across education, innovation and sustainability.
